Neoregelia ‘Gaia’
Neoregelia ‘Gaia’ is an exceptionally striking tropical bromeliad combining brilliant foliage variegation with the intense central coloration for which Neoregelias are famous. Its broad, arching leaves develop luminous cream, ivory, and yellow tones edged by narrow green margins, producing a bright and highly architectural rosette.
As the plant matures and approaches its flowering cycle, the inner portion of the rosette develops a spectacular crimson to hot-pink-red flush. Against the pale foliage, this vivid center creates an extraordinary contrast and gives the plant the appearance of a tropical flower even before its small true flowers become noticeable within the central cup.
Color and variegation naturally vary from plant to plant and can change with maturity, season, and growing conditions. Strong filtered light generally encourages the best combination of compact growth and vibrant coloration while protecting the lighter portions of the foliage from excessive sun exposure.
Like other Neoregelias, ‘Gaia’ grows as a tank-forming rosette that holds water in its central cup. After reaching maturity, the mother plant produces offsets, or pups, around its base, allowing a beautiful multi-rosette specimen to develop over time.

Neoregelia ‘Gaia’ Care Guide
Light: Provide bright filtered light or partial shade. Good light encourages stronger coloration and compact growth. Protect the pale variegated foliage from prolonged harsh midday or afternoon sun, which may cause scorching.
Water: Keep clean water in the central cup and refresh it regularly. Water the root zone as needed, allowing the growing medium to remain lightly moist but never continuously saturated.
Humidity: Moderate to high humidity is ideal. Good air circulation is especially important in humid environments.
Growing Medium: Use a loose, airy, fast-draining bromeliad or epiphytic mix. Avoid dense soils that remain waterlogged around the roots.
Temperature: Best grown in warm tropical conditions. Protect from frost and prolonged cold temperatures.
Fertilizer: Feed lightly during active growth with a diluted bromeliad-safe fertilizer. Avoid excessive fertilizer, which can encourage soft growth and negatively affect foliage coloration.
Growth & Pups: After flowering, the mature mother rosette gradually declines as part of the natural bromeliad life cycle while producing pups around its base. These offsets can remain attached to form a larger specimen or be separated once sufficiently developed.
Please Note: Each Neoregelia is a living plant and naturally unique. Color intensity, variegation, size, shape, and maturity will vary. The brilliant red center is associated with maturity and the flowering cycle and may not be present at the time of shipment.
