An epiphytic species from the Amazon Basin in parts of Colombia, Brazil and Peru. Native to dense tropical forests with constant moisture, it grows in heavily shaded locations. An upright, vase shape of narrow, pale green leaves that are heavily marked with dark green to brown bands or bars on both sides of the leaves. The inflorescence is a tall scape with a cluster of tight, short branches at the apex with white bracts spotted and outlined with purple. The flowers are white with an open corolla shape. In cultivations it need shade, constant moisture and good quality water to thrive.
