Vanda M.V. Tannins is an eye-catching Vanda orchid prized for its unusual warm-toned flowers and dramatic tropical appearance. The blooms display a beautiful combination of golden-yellow, amber, bronze and copper-brown coloration, complemented by a brilliant magenta-pink lip that creates a striking contrast.

The flowers are carried along upright to arching spikes, producing an impressive display when the plant is in bloom. As with other Vandas, M.V. Tannins develops the characteristic exposed aerial root system that makes these orchids especially attractive when grown in baskets or other open, well-ventilated conditions.

Flower color and intensity may vary naturally from bloom to bloom depending on maturity, growing conditions and light levels.

Care

• Light: Bright filtered light. Good light is important for strong growth and flowering, but protect the plant from harsh midday sun that may scorch the foliage.
• Water: Water thoroughly and allow the roots to dry between waterings. Plants grown bare-root or in open baskets may require frequent watering during warm weather.
• Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity combined with excellent air circulation.
• Temperature: Warm-growing tropical orchid. Protect from prolonged cold temperatures.
• Air Circulation: Excellent airflow around the foliage and roots is especially important for healthy Vanda growth.
• Fertilizer: Feed regularly during active growth with a balanced orchid fertilizer at an appropriate diluted strength.
