Bromeliad Aechmea Fasciata – Product Description & Care Guide
Description:
Aechmea Fasciata, also known as the Silver Vase Bromeliad or Urn Plant, is a stunning tropical plant admired for its striking pink flower bracts and silvery-green foliage. This epiphytic bromeliad forms a beautiful rosette of arching leaves with a powdery silver sheen, making it a standout addition to any indoor or outdoor plant collection. The central flower spike can last for months, adding long-lasting beauty to your space.
Care Guide:
🌞 Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. It can tolerate some direct sunlight but avoid prolonged exposure to harsh afternoon rays.
💦 Water: Fill the central rosette (cup) with water and refresh it weekly. Water the soil lightly to keep it slightly moist but not soggy. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.
🌡️ Temperature & Humidity: Thrives in temperatures between 65-80°F (18-27°C). Prefers moderate to high humidity levels. Mist occasionally if the air is dry.
🌱 Soil: Use a well-draining bromeliad mix or an orchid potting mix for best results.
🍽️ Fertilizer: Feed with a diluted bromeliad or orchid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid heavy feeding, as bromeliads are light feeders.
✂️ Maintenance: Remove spent flowers by trimming the bloom at its base. Over time, the mother plant will produce pups (offsets), which can be separated and replanted once they reach about one-third of the parent plant’s size.
Aechmea Fasciata is a low-maintenance, air-purifying plant that adds an exotic touch to homes, offices, or shaded outdoor spaces. Perfect for beginners and seasoned plant lovers alike! 🌿💖
