Aechmea ‘Tortuga’ – Dramatic Silver & Burgundy Collector Bromeliad

Aechmea ‘Tortuga’ is an extraordinary tropical bromeliad with bold foliage that makes a statement even when the plant is not in bloom. Broad, sturdy leaves develop a silvery-gray surface dramatically patterned with irregular burgundy, maroon and nearly black horizontal bands.

The upright, vase-shaped rosette gives this Aechmea a strong architectural appearance. As the plant matures, the contrasting bands become especially impressive, giving each specimen its own distinctive pattern.

When mature and ready to flower, Aechmea ‘Tortuga’ produces a vivid orange to orange-red inflorescence from the center of the rosette. The brilliant warm coloration against the silver and burgundy foliage creates an exceptional tropical display.
