Some Vandas impress with their color. Others capture attention with their flower size. Vanda Pure’s Magic ‘O-Pad’ brings both together in spectacular fashion.

The flowers are exceptionally large and full, with broad, overlapping petals and sepals that give each bloom an impressive rounded appearance. Their base coloration is a brilliant fuchsia-pink, densely covered with darker magenta spotting that creates an intricate, almost mosaic-like pattern across the flower.

From a distance, the intense coloration immediately commands attention. Up close, the extraordinary detail of the spotting becomes even more impressive, with thousands of tiny markings creating tremendous visual depth against the vivid pink background.

Vanda Pure’s Magic ‘O-Pad’ Care

Light: Provide very bright filtered light to partial sun. Gentle morning sun is excellent. Plants should be gradually acclimated before being exposed to stronger sunlight.

Water: Water thoroughly, completely saturating the roots. Vandas grown in open baskets may require frequent or even daily watering during hot weather. Allow the roots to dry between waterings and avoid keeping them continuously wet.

Humidity: Moderate to high humidity is preferred, ideally around 50–80%, combined with excellent air circulation.

Temperature: Warm-growing. Temperatures of approximately 65–90°F are ideal. Protect the plant from prolonged exposure to cold temperatures.

Fertilizer: Feed regularly during active growth with a balanced orchid fertilizer at reduced strength. Periodically flush the roots thoroughly with clean water to help prevent fertilizer salt accumulation.

Growth Habit: Upright, monopodial orchid producing long aerial roots. Vandas perform especially well when their roots receive abundant airflow.
