Vanda Pure’s Wax ‘Pink’

Vanda Pure's Wax 'Pink' – A Brilliant Display of Tropical Color

Vanda Pure's Wax 'Pink' is a live tropical Vanda orchid hybrid admired for its spectacular clusters of intensely colored magenta-pink flowers. Its rounded, overlapping petals display rich pink tones, subtle darker markings, and an attractive glossy appearance that gives the blooms their distinctive wax-like beauty. The flowers emerge along an arching inflorescence, creating a dramatic and colorful tropical display.

Radiant Pink, Tropical Elegance

Some orchids captivate with delicate patterns, others with unusual shapes. Vanda Pure's Wax 'Pink' makes its statement through the remarkable intensity of its color.

Its luminous flowers combine deep fuchsia and vibrant pink, catching the sunlight with a polished sheen that makes each blossom appear almost sculpted from wax. The broad, rounded petals overlap beautifully, giving the flowers a full, luxurious appearance.

When several blooms open together, they form a breathtaking arrangement of tropical color, transforming this Vanda into a striking centerpiece for an orchid collection, bright patio, or tropical growing area.

Like other Vanda orchids, this hybrid appreciates warm temperatures, abundant air circulation, and bright growing conditions. With appropriate care, it can become a rewarding addition to any tropical orchid collection.

🌿 Vanda Pure's Wax 'Pink' Care Guide

☀️ Light: Provide bright, filtered sunlight. Gentle morning sunshine is beneficial, but protect the foliage from intense midday sun, particularly during hot summer months.

💧 Watering: Water thoroughly and frequently, particularly when growing bare-root in hanging baskets. Daily watering may be appropriate in warm, breezy conditions. Potted plants generally require less frequent watering depending on the growing medium and environment. Allow the roots to approach dryness between waterings.

🌡️ Temperature: Best grown in warm tropical conditions, ideally around 65–90°F. Protect from cold temperatures, especially prolonged exposure below 55°F.

💨 Humidity & Air Circulation: Moderate to high humidity, approximately 60–80%, is beneficial when accompanied by excellent airflow. Avoid stagnant, constantly wet growing conditions.

🌱 Fertilizing: Feed with a balanced, water-soluble orchid fertilizer such as 20-20-20 at an appropriately diluted concentration during active growth. A bloom-oriented fertilizer such as 10-30-20 may be incorporated occasionally according to label directions, but flowering also depends on adequate light and plant maturity.

🪴 Growing Method: Suitable for hanging Vanda baskets or well-ventilated orchid containers with coarse orchid media. Roots require excellent drainage and generous exposure to fresh air.

🌸 Flowering: Produces showy clusters of richly colored pink flowers under suitable growing conditions. Flowering frequency and timing vary with plant maturity, seasonal conditions, and cultivation.
