Vanda Ruth Bell Graham × Tubtim Velvet – Brilliant Pink Spotted Vanda Orchid

Vanda Ruth Bell Graham × Tubtim Velvet is a live tropical Vanda orchid hybrid admired for its large, rounded, intensely pink flowers covered in intricate magenta speckling. Its broad, overlapping petals display rich fuchsia tones and a distinctive velvet-like appearance, creating an exceptionally colorful floral display. This warm-growing orchid is an excellent addition to tropical orchid collections and bright growing spaces.

🌸 A Tropical Masterpiece in Pink

Some orchids impress with their delicate elegance, while others command attention with extraordinary color. Vanda Ruth Bell Graham × Tubtim Velvet belongs unmistakably to the second group.

Its magnificent flowers unfold in brilliant shades of hot pink and fuchsia, with darker magenta markings scattered across the petals and sepals. These intricate patterns create remarkable depth, giving the blossoms an almost luxurious, velvety finish.

The broad, rounded flower segments overlap beautifully, producing full, substantial blooms that appear almost sculpted from pink velvet. When several flowers open along a spike, the result is a dazzling tropical display.

With proper care, mature plants may flower multiple times throughout the year, rewarding growers with repeated bursts of spectacular color.

🌿 Vanda Orchid Care Guide

☀️ Light: Provide bright, filtered sunlight. Morning sun is beneficial, but protect the foliage from intense midday and afternoon sun, especially during the hottest months.

💧 Watering: Water thoroughly, allowing the roots to become fully hydrated. Bare-root Vandas typically benefit from daily watering in warm conditions and may require additional watering during extreme heat. Reduce frequency during cooler weather and adjust according to humidity, airflow, and growing conditions.

🌡️ Temperature: This tropical orchid thrives in warm conditions, ideally around 65–90°F. Protect it from prolonged exposure to temperatures below 55°F and avoid frost.

💨 Humidity & Airflow: Moderate to high humidity, approximately 60–80%, is beneficial. Maintain excellent air circulation to encourage healthy roots and foliage.

🌱 Fertilizing: Feed weekly during active growth with a properly diluted balanced orchid fertilizer such as 20-20-20. A bloom-promoting fertilizer such as 10-30-20 may be used occasionally according to label directions. Avoid excessive fertilizer concentrations and flush roots periodically with clean water.

🪴 Growing Method: Vandas grow beautifully in hanging baskets, slatted orchid containers, or suitable coarse orchid media. Their aerial roots appreciate generous airflow and should never remain waterlogged.

🌸 Flowering: Mature, healthy plants may bloom more than once annually when provided with sufficient light, warmth, water, and nutrition. Flowering frequency varies with plant maturity and growing conditions.
